Seperti yang sudah diduga banyak kalangan, Oppenheimer sukses meraih penghargaan tertinggi Best Picture dalam ajang 96th Academy Awards yang diadakan pada 10 Maret 2024 waktu setempat. Bertempat di Dolby Theatre, Christopher Nolan juga berhasil meraih Oscar pertamanya sebagai Best Director. Dua pemeran dalam Oppenheimer juga meraih penghargaan, Cillian Murphy dengan Best Actor dan Robert Downey Jr. sebagai Best Supporting Actor.
Di nominasi lain, Emma Stone sukses meraih Best Actress melalui Poor Things, mengalahkan Lily Gladstone yang dijagokan lewat Killers of the Flower Moon. Sementara, Da'Vine Joy Randolph membawa pulang Oscar melalui The Holdovers dalam nominasi Best Supporting Actress.
