Beberapa waktu lalu, jagad internet cukup dihebohkan dengan kehadiran bocoran foto dari The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Collector’s Edition. Foto yang bocor tersebut menampilkan sebuah boxset yang berisi 9 kepingan bluray film-film dari The Dark knight Trilogy dan juga beberapa collectible items seperti miniatur kendaraan di 3 film The Dark Knight Trilogy, poster yang bergambarkan 3 karakter villain, dan sebuah artbook. Jika merujuk pada bahasa yang terdapat di kemasan salah satu boxset tersebut, boxset tersebut merupakan rilisan untuk negara Perancis, dan memang, situs Amazon France memajang produk ini di situs mereka.
Namun kemarin, Warner Bros. akhirnya mengeluarkan pernyataan resmi mengenai The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Collector’s Edition. Selain pernyataan, sebuah gambar dirilis, dan kita bisa melihat secara langsung bagaimana tampilan The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Collector’s Edition yang akan dirilis di Amerika Serikat dan pasaran internasional. Gambar resmi yang dirilis oleh Warner Bros. memiliki beberapa perbedaan dengan gambar yang sebelumnya bocor, seperti jumlah disc, collectible poster dan kemasan.
Dikabarkan boxset ini akan dibandrol dengan harga USD 99.97, atau hampir mendekati IDR 1,000,000. Namun kalian akan mendapatkan bonus berlimpah di boxset berisi 6 disc ini. Selain 3 miniatur kendaraan, 5 poster, dan sebuah artbook; special features yang terdapat di boxset ini dijamin akan mengisi otak kalian dengan materi mengenai The Dark knight Trilogy yang belum pernah kalian ketahui. Salah satunya adalah sebuah featurette berisi video diskusi Chris Nolan dan Richard Donner (sutradara Superman, 1978) yang membicarakan mengenai usaha-usaha yang dilakukan dalam membawa Batman dan Superman ke layar lebar. Featurette lain berisi mengenai proses pembuatan trilogi The Dark Knight Trilogy, dan bagaimana trilogi ini memberikan dampak kepada kultur pop dan dunia film saat ini; termasuk dalam featurette ini adalah wawancara dengan Guillermo del Toro, Damon Lindelof, dan Zack Snyder.
The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Collector’s Edition akan dirilis mulai 24 September di Amerika Serikat. Situs Amazon belum membuka pre-order untuk boxset ini.
